Hello, when we have a power outage, my control panel on my Thermador double (convection) oven beeps F7 and the oven won't work. We have a power surge on our main circuit box but it doesn't seem to help. We've had the control panel replaced 2-3 times already and it's having problems again after an outage. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The electronic parts in your oven are very sensitive to improper power source which causing a severe damages. The error code "F7" means the control panel has to be replaced. In order to provide the right part number for the control panel I need the color of the panel. Here are the break down diagrams for the Thermador oven Model SCD272TGene.

Will check for the color of the panel. Does this mean I'll be replacing the control panel every time there's an outage? Is there any way to avoid this? I already have a surge protector on my main electrical panel. Thanks again.

I'm sorry about what happened to your oven. I completely understand how inconvenient it is on your part. Using these things signifies that they may eventually bust. NO matter how careful we are with these appliances, we can't deny the fact that this usually happens. When and if they bust, you should think about downgrading your appliances, rather than replacing them. Replacing or upgrading them are not the only options you have when this happens. A good suggestion is to downgrade the appliance you have. It could eventually save us more money. It's good that you have considered looking for other ways to fix the oven rather than replacing it right away. Article resource: Don't replace, downgrade.
