I have an Amana ARB2557CB.

The water fill tube on the ice dispenser keeps freezing up. I believe I need to replace the water valve on the unit to prevent water from leaking into the fill tube between fill ups.

On the parts diagram for my unit: Parts for Amana ARB2557CB / PARB2557CB0: Cabinet Back Parts - AppliancePartsPros.com

I see two similar parts.

10 - Valve, Primary Water
Whirlpool 12544002 Valve, Primary Water - AppliancePartsPros.com

18 - Kit, Water Valve
Whirlpool 12002193 Kit, Water Valve - AppliancePartsPros.com

What is the difference between these two parts and which one do I need (or both)?

Thank you,
Greg

In case this helps anyone in the future, I figured I would post what I was able to find.

The Primary valve provides water to the filter. The secondary valve provides water to the water dispenser and to the ice maker.

By replacing the secondary valve (Item 18 in the schematic), I was able to fix my frozen ice maker feed tube issue.

The part was an exact match and only took about 15 minutes to install and test.

Within a few minutes of installation, I was once again making ice.
