My dryer makes noise when it runs. It sounds like something is knocking in the drum. I've checked the idler wheels, belt and motor. I haven't found anything. I thought it might be the front ring bearing and when to get one but the parts house does not have one in stock. They tell me that part rarely if ever wears out and there is no demand for one. I'd rather not throw parts at the dryer and hope for the best. The noise sounds like something is loose but I haven't found anything yet.

Is the noise that you are hearing the gas valve opening and closing? The ONLY other thing I can think of is the SEAM in the drum running over the rollers!!!

No it isn't the gas valve. I checked the ring bearing on the front and even removed it. NO local parts house stocks it by the way. After I put it back the dryer was quiter so I'll have to get another bearing and install it it looks like
