My dishwasher takes and extra 85 minutes for a normal wash cycle for a total of almost 3 hours. The heating element does not heat. I checked the element and the high temp thermostat and they have the correct resistance and continuity. Could a bad thermistor 8269208 cause the heating element not heat? What else could be the cause?

Here are your parts Parts for Kenmore Dishwasher 66516914001 - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. Yes a bad thermistor could cause your problem, so I would check it. You checked the heater and the hi-limit, did ypou check them in series at the control board just to be sure that the wiring to them is also OK. If OK and the thermistor is OK then I would say that the control board is toast. Could be just the heater relay on the board but this is difficult to troubleshoot. |

How do you get to the control board? Do you have to remove the complete stainless steel panel on the inside of the door?

I am not sure as I cannot find a parts break down for this unit. It is actually made by Whirlpool. When I look up the control board I see it is also used on a Whirlpool Voyager. Below is a link to a manual for that model, hopefully they are put together the same. You will have to join the site and be logged in to download the manual. http://appliancejunk.com...wnloads;sa=view;down=233 |
