I have a Jenn Air electric oven. The upper broiler element is not working. There should be 240v going to the element. I am only reading 40v. I checked all the wiring for and terminals for proper conections. They also check out. Any ideas?

Here are your parts Parts for Jenn-Air JDR8895AAW Range - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. In the wiring diagram you will see a hi-limit thermostat in the upper element broil element circuit perhaps it is open. There is also one in the lower oven element circuit but it controls all elements. The parts just shows just one of them (item 16 in section 01) They are usually mounted to the back/outside of the oven. Unplug the unit and check it for resistance with a meter, should be 0 ohms. It is hard to tell from the picture of the part but some of them have a button that pops up when they open. If open it would also be a good idea to check the oven sensor. Below is a good site with info on how to do this. Look at 7, 8, 20 and 21. http://www.applianceaid.com/ele...-range-repair-topics.php |
