Is the compressor running? You can usually hear it but you should also be able to feel it vibrating. It should be on whenever the condenser/compressor fan is on. |

ok so I pulled the start relay and overload off the compressor and it rattled and fell apart when I released the clips inside. The middle post (male end connector) attached to a separate part inside the assembly is still intact. How do I check the compressor now that I removed the relay and overload?

Below is a link with how to check the compressor etc. How To Fix a Refrigerator - Appliance Repair Guide - ACME HOW TO.comHere are your parts Parts for ED0GTQXKQ0 - AppliancePartsPros.comYou are missing the ;last digit of the model number so will have to choose the correct unit in the Matching Model Numbers section. Also if you do not have the wiring diagram I may be able to get it for you but you need but I need that last digit. The compressor winding test is not definitive. In other words it will tell you that the compressor is bad but does not tell you that it is good. It may have winding to winding shorts or mechanical problems. Same goes for the capacitor as sometimes they only fail when working voltage is applied to them. Note that they rarely fail. There is also no good wat to check the start PTC so if the compressor checks out OK then ypouhave to replace the starter to check it. |
