My washing machine will fill, agitate, drain, refill and drain again but will not spin dry during the rinse and spin cycle. What can I do to fix this? I took apart the timer to make sure that it was working properly. I can't diagnose but can usually fix things when I know what the problem is. HELP !!!!!

Take the front panel off the machine. What is it doing when in spin mode? Motor running? Just humming? All quiet? If running, is belt turning? Or clip on bottom of motor shaft spinning but pulley not rotating?

When the spin cycle starts, the tub fills with water and drains. It makes a humming kind of noise and the motor never moves. It also constantly makes a sucking type noise. But everything else is ok. It fills, drains, and agitates.

Is it the drive motor that is humming? Are you saying that when you manually place timer in spin that it fills with water???

After the wash cycle, there is a rinse/spin cycle. The tub fills up and rinses the clothes and drains. Then it does not spin at all. I dont know what is humming. I do know that it constantly makes a sucking sound.

Agitate and spin are two different things. The washer should fill, agitate, drain, spin (wash cycle), fill, agitate, drain, spin (rinse cycle). Does the basket with the clothes in it ever spin?

Ok, when washer has drained and should start spinning, turn washer off. Unplug one of the wire terminals from the pump so it won't make any noise. Turn washer back on. What does the drive motor do? Do you see the clip on the bottom of the shaft below the pulley spinning? If not, is the motor humming at this point?
