I have a GE Potscrubber 680 about 15 years old...it now leaks from the bottom center (the best I can see when looking underneath while running).....not sure whether to replace since it is so old or try to fix the problem....Water is draining into the sink drain as it's supposed to and the leaking was occurring after a few minutes in rinse and hold cycle. It leaks using any cycle but was trying this cycle to see the problem....Water leak is major as I was mopping up kitchen floor after I ran the cycle.....Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix would really be appreciated!

Here are your parts Parts for GSD680XX02WW - AppliancePartsPros.comYou have to find the leak. Kill power to the unit. Remove the kick plate and inspect under the unit. If this started as a slow leak you may see calcium deposits. If you cannot see it dry everything off and then restore power and run a cycle while watching it. Be careful that you do not touch any electrical connections. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination. A flashlight and a mirror come in handy when doing this. A mechanics mirror (same as a dentist's mirror just a little larger) is ideal. In a pinch you could tape a small mirror to a dowel or if you can get an old makeup compact with a mirror that will also work. It is nice if you can change the angle of the mirror. Often the water will run down a part then drip onto the floor so you have to check higher up in the unit. Common places for leaks are the wash/drain solenoid seal, holes in the sump and hose connections. Also it important to check your floor under the unit for rot. |
