I am replacing the defrost element heater, my frige has a single element would it be ok to replace it with a dual element heater?

The replacement heater for this refrigerator is a dual element the part number is WR51X10101. You will have to change the way the wires run so read the instructions that come with the heater. GE Refrigerator Repair Guide
