Do you have a meter you can test the door switch with and inspect the control at the same time while the control panel is open?

I don' t have a meter, but do you think that is the issue? Can I bypass the switch?

You can bypass the switch, yes. Bypass the switch with the white wires and see if the error displays with the next cycle.
