You can get the proceedure to remove the spin tube assembly by reading my article in a "sticky" above "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes". As noted, if you are working on the brake shoes, it is not necessary to remove the spin tube all the way. I use a flat blade screw driver to take off the "C" clips, and use pliers to put them back on.

The brake shoes are fine but the c clip groove in the t bearing wont hold the c clip on . It's worn from the bottom and needs to be replaced.I'm not sure if this repair is worth it or not.

Oh I see now, how in the whorld did this get messed up?? Personally, I would try putting some retaining marks on the end of the spin tube with a metal chisel, worth a try. Otherwise, you will need a new spin tube.

You need to read my sticky article to do this, get the spanner wrench, remove the agitator, loosten the drive block nut, pound down on it with a hammer while lifting up to get it free of the spin tube.
