Neither of the oven elements are heating in an oven that has been used little. This sounds like no power to either element which sounds like a control or thermostat problem. Any advice appreciated.

Here are your parts Parts for Roper FEP310VQ0 Range - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment ffor the wiring diagram. I am assuming that the stove top elements work OK. Does the oven stay in preheat and never comes ready. If it shows that it is ready then it could be a control board or a oven sensor problem. I am not sure if the unit has a preheat/ready indication. Note that you cannot go by the Oven Heating Light as that just shows if the elements are on. Check the wiring to/from the heating elements. The wiring diagram shows a Thermal Cut-off in the element circuit but I could not find one in the parts so I do not know if there actually is one in the unit. it does say Canada only. If there is it is most commonly mounted to the outside back of the oven. it should measure 0 ohms (closed). Check the oven sensor it should be about 1100 ohms. Note that if the unit stays in preheat then it is not a sensor problem. If all OK then I would say that your control board is shot. Be sure to unplug the unit when working on it. |

Thanks for this detailed response! I did some further checks on it. It turns out that the broiler section does work and when in that mode, the oven light on the panel is on. However, when the oven switch is turned to bake, the light stays off and no power is getting to the bake element. The bake element checks OK on an ohm meter. There is no preheat function. Makes me think the control/switch is the problem. Comments?
Thanks
