Does your part AP3882915 control the defrost cycle? If not which part does? Thanks for your reply.

No this is just the user intrface

The main control board (item 18 in the Unit Parts section) (AP4334025)

You did not say exactly what the problem or symptoms were.
A defrost problem can be the board, the heater or the defrost thermostat.
