My fridge temperature went up to 60 degrees,

I removed the back panel and found the coil assembly mostly frozen.

I tested the fan and it works, after defrosting the assembly with a hair dryer, the frige temperature is back to normal to 32 degrees.

I'm afraid that the freezing will continue and the fridge temperature will go up again.

the fan does work when the door is closed

do you have a part# that you recommend replacing to avoid the freezing / warming up problem?

thank you

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for Samsung RS2545SH REF - SXS | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a manual(SAM0093)
http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=374
You will have to join the site to get the manual but it is free and is a good site for a DIYer.

Run the diagnostics and try to force a defrost cycle.
Check that the defrost heater comes on.
Be careful that you do not burn your fingers.

If the defrost heater does not come on.
Unplug the fridge and the heating coil and measure it with a meter.

If it is open (infinite ohms), it is toast.

Now here comes the twist you cannot buy just the heater Samsung wants you to replace the evaporator coil and the heater which turns this into an expensive repair as you will need a pro.

I would buy the evaporator assembly and try to remove the old heater and install the new one without replacing the evaporator coil.

With luck someone else will jump in with a better solution.

If the heater is OK check the thermistor.
If it is OK then odds are that the control board is toast.
PS: Samsung's are a pain in the you know what!!!

I think they were having website issues last night - I could not get an activation email. I got it today and got the manual downloaded.

Thanks!

I'll get it posted up someplace else and link to it in case that is an issue again.
