My wife just broke the left most knob on this portable kenmore washer - it is the load Water Level knob, and i can still change it with a pair of needle noze pliers, but would like to have it repaired correctly if not too much difficulty
1. I bought this used over twelve years ago. I do not see a model number, and some of the paper diagram on the back is peeling away/unreadable. Where might the model number indicated?
2. The control panel is at the front, has three knobs: Water Level, Water Temp, and the larger Wash Selector Knob at the right. At a glance it appears the top panel (including lid and control panel) is attached with four screws at the top/back of the machine. Is this the only way to access the control panel, or does it somehow pop out with a screw driver and a little force?
The plastic knob post appears to have simply broken in half. From reading other posts, i suspect that the whole control, or maybe even the whole board might need replacement. Is this correct?
Any other advice on the problem? Is a pair of needle nose the best option?

Robert,
It is impossible to find any replacement part without the correct model number. Check under the lid and on all sides of the cabinet.

Robert, I'm assuming that at least a part of the water level switch stem is broken off. The water level switch has to be replaced. Unfortunately the knob for this switch is no longer available. - The water level switch Part number: 3966789

Gene. Is this the part that is found at the control panel? Attached to the knob?

This is the very left switch which is mounted from the inside of the control panel.
