Fridge has been clicking for at least a month. At first I couldn't figure out where in the kitchen the noise was coming from (clicking was very intermittent).
This evening I got home and fridge is 45'F and bottom freezer is 33'F.
I unplugged the fridge then replugged it back in. Now I can hear the clicking and temps are very slowly going down.

I would prefer to try and fix this myself before calling a serviceman. Should I start with replacing the Start Capacitor? What are your suggestions. Also, the previous post I am referencing mentions a specific part/part number. is this what I should order? What is the difference between that part (AP4300623) and a Run Capacitor, which is significantly less expensive (part AP2071964)?

Thanks, Tim

there is a way to confirm if the compressor is bad, i have had the control board be the problem and not the start components. there is 2 wires going to the compressor, make a jumper cord - any 120v electric cord is fine - and please dont try this if you have no electrical experience !! i assume no liability for harm to you or the refrigerator ! ...... connect the jumper cord to the 2 power wires of the compressor - plug it in, if it good, it should start. if it didnt connected to the refrigerator, you have problems with the controls. hope this helps.
