We had a power loss/surge? yesterday, with flickering lights and now the dishwasher won't work. The buttons don't respond. Powering off gets the display to say PF or soil sensing, but it will still not respond to reset or work. Did the main board get fried? Is it worth fixing on my rather aged machine?

Same problem few years ago and it just could be the fuse but in my case if the voltage fluctuated too much and there is a 115v to 12volt transformer that powers the control panel, it will short out with a large voltage fluctuation or lightening and will need replacement. Mine sat on the circuit board and once accessed can be checked with a voltage checker quite easily. Some basic knowledge of dis-assembly and voltage checking is necessary but it beats having to buy a new dishwasher. Best regards.

Hello.

Most likely it is the control board. This part is no longer available. You should remove the control and check all soldering points at the back. Repair any burnt connection and you may get lucky.
Also disconnect the touch pad (membrane switch)flex ribbon from the control board, clean the edge with isopropyl alcohol and reconnect it back.
If all this doesn't help you will have a choice: manual dish washing or the new machine. :)

Good luck.

Simon.

Hi I recently bought a new ge stacked washer and dryer.I have a4 prong electrical outlet the unit requires a 3prong I went back to Lowes and asked the salesman what to do to rectify this.. He said it was easier to change the cord than the unit. He gave me a cord and a friend that knows electronic s installed the cord. Washer is working however dryer is not. Would like to know what went wrong. Thanks Mark.
