I washed some blankets in a Roper RAB4132HQ topload and afterwards the washer didn't drain completely and spin cycle seemed slower than normal. I checked for faulty pump, coupler and clogs and put it together and ran a very small load and it seemed to work. Then next load filled, agitated and would not drain, it does start to spin cycle even when completely filled.
so
The pump is fairly new and spins.
Took motor off and coupler looks good,
Pretty sure there is no clogs.
Lid switch is jumped.
Washer will start spinning when filled with water.
I'm not sure if spin cycle is reaching top speed.
When spin cycle is at top speed to seems to be off balance.
Separated inner tub from plastic tub and checked for debris.
Seems to come to a quick jerky stop (not always).
I'm guessing it's the gearbox, clutch or brake but not sure where to start
Sorry if this question has been asked before, I spent a considerable amount of time trying to find answers without posting.

Well, there is a gearcase problem because directly after agitation, it's supposed to drain without spinning. The neutral drain mechanism in the gearcase isn't working. Regardless, even if it goes into drain/spin at the same time, it should still drain. If the motor is running at full speed during drain mode and it isn't draining, either the pump is faulty or there is an obstruction in the drain somewhere. To determine if something is bogging the motor down during drain, remove the motor, remove the motor coupler and replace the motor without it. If it doesn't drain with just the pump attached to the motor, there is definitely a problem with the pump or drain hoses.

Thanks for the info! After agitation it does go into a drain mode and doesn't spin, i think it's when I manually turn the know in the middle of a spin cycle. I'll take the coupler out and see what happens - thanks again!

I removed the motor and coupler and put it back together and it doesn't drain. I double checked for a clog but all is clear so i guess the pump is not working properly. It seems to spin fine when it's off the washer but maybe it gets cocked and siezes up? I tried to see if the blades would spin while keeping the center locked but it seemed pretty solid. Are some pumps faulty even though they spin free?? The old pump I replaced had a sock in it and wouldn't budge.
