Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/30/2008(UTC) Posts: 4		My refrigerartor accumulates a large amount of water in the bottom recess about every seven days. If I don't keep an eye on it - it will start leaking out onto the floor. What's up with that?

To do this remove the evaporator cover under the cover you should see a hole covered with ice. Remove the ice (careful not to punch a hole in the drain pan if using an ice pick) then clear the drain. To do this I force hot water down the drain with a turkey baser but you can use any squirt bottle I have even used a garden hose. Once the drain is clear mix baking soda with water and pour it down the drain to prevent this from happening any time soon. Refrigerator Leaking Repair Guide[/FONT]

Will i need to remove the ice maker to gain access? Is removal of the ice maker a big deal?

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 3/10/2009(UTC) Posts: 1,363		The cover may not extend behind the ice maker but if it does the ice maker hangs on brackets and is held secure by screws. Loosen the screws and lift the ice maker up and unplug the wiring harness.
