I bought and replaced the stem and seal on this washer because it was leaking. That problem is solved. But, after putting the washer back together the inner tub is rubbing against the tub lid. This is stopping and/or slowing the inner tub from spinning. It almost seems as if though the inner tub is sitting up too high but I can't figure out why or how to get it to sit correctly. I would have thought that I put it back together exactly the way it was before I took it apart. So.....need help!!!!

The tub cover seal was in place and I made sure it wasn't twisted. I did remove the set screw and everything went into place without any problems. In fact, when it didn't work correctly I took it all back apart then put it back together again. Both times I had no problems.
After reading some of the other posts, I noticed some suggestions on how to center the tub. Is it possible that is my problem? I watched a few videos on how to do this job and none of them said anything about centering the tub.

Well.....unfortunately I did not change the tub bearing. I take it I was supposed to change that as well. If so, I am quite frustrated. I bought the replacement parts from Maytag. If it is well known that the tub bearing has to be replaced with the stem and seal.... they should know that and should have told me that when I ordered the parts.

I took the stem and seal and inner tub back out of the washer. I let the washer run the spin cycle and it had quite a wobble without anything attached.

So, does that mean if I replace the tub bearing that would solve that problem?
