All the buttons on my Whirlpool Gold gas dryer light up, and beep properly when the buttons are pushed, but when I push the Start button, I hear a "click" sound, and the sensing light flashes, but it doesn't start. Smacking the top of the dryer sometimes gets it to finally turn on:confused: Could replacing the control board be the "fix"?

Hi.

Before replacing the control board check all the connectors and the wire harness.
The most common problem with controls is bad connections.
The other thing to check would be the door switch, it's #10 on the diagram.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Cabinet parts for Whirlpool GGX9868JQ0 - AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.

Simon.
