Hi my microwave recently made a loud pop and then quit heating everything else seemed fine ,took to a repair shop for 50 bucks they told me I needed a new magnetron and diode for a price of 300 more I decided to repair myself ordered the parts and replaced them, seemed pretty simple.but when i plugged it in to give it a test it came on for about a second then everything shut down no power period.Seems like it has to be a fuse but what would cause this . any help would be grateful.I am determined Thanks Vincehttp://forum.appliancepa...images/smilies/smile.gif

Hello,

Possible the high voltage capacitor (#2 at the diagram) is shorted out. Open the control panel to access the capacitor and the fuse.

Discharge the capacitor and check it for continuity.

- The high voltage capacitor Part number: 5303319549
Part number: 5303319549

- The fuse kit (included the monitor switch) Part number: 5303319559

If the capacitor is open then the microwave would not heat.

If the capacitor is shorted then it will blow the fuse.
