Dishwasher has worked flawlessly for 2 years, all of a sudden it does not run, when control panel buttons depressed the lights illuminate on all cycles but it does not start to fill, and times out after 1 minute and shuts down, I have removed the front control panel and checked the door micro switch and its checks out fine with an ohmeter. what is my next step please?

Hi.

To determine if this is the control panel versus the control board check the J1 plug pins 10-6. With Start/Cancel pressed according to the manual you should read 10Komh. If you have correct reading - replace the control board, if not - control panel.
Here are the breakdown diagrams and 02-Control Panel Parts parts for Maytag MDB7609AWS2 - AppliancePartsPros.com

Keep in mind that you can return any parts you don't use back to APP.

Post the results.

Hello Simon

I tested the resistance at pins 10 and 6 and got 1.6 megs, however now I have no light on the front panel, not sure if some static may have spiked the board, do you think the control card may be the culprit?

Bmase,

Suggested fix was the control panel, and you said you'd post back what fixed the MayTag MDB7609AWS2 dishwasher once you fixed it.

What was the FIX?

Was it the control board, the panel... OR something else?
