I am trying to repair my Kenmore series 90 washer model 110.26912690 (or maybe 110.26912691)

Following troubleshooting:

lid switch - I shorted it, not the problem

drain pump hose - I lowered the hose, the wate drrained, no obstruction

water pump belt - direct drive, no belt

coin trap - I lowered the hose, the water drained, no obstruction

I removed and examined the pump - not frozen

I hear no noise at all when it should pump.

How do I test the timer switch, I have seen the chart, but I'm looking for instructions

Hi Robi,

Does it do anything or it's completely dead?

Gene.

It fills, it agitates.
It does not drain or spin.

Does the motor run at that time? Does it make any sound?

No. No motor noise, no sound when it should be draining.

Remove the washer cabinet and check all wires connected to the motor.

Unfortunately i could not find any electric schematics for this model. If you do have one and can post it here, it might help.

Wires looked fine. I checked motor.

helped very little

did help

Start windings (black to yellow) 5 ohms - GOOD
High Speed windings (blue to white) 1.6 ohms - GOOD
Low Speed windings (white to white/violet) 0.3 ohms - PROBLEM

Does that fit the symptom of no drain?
Is it worth fixing?

What about wht to wht/orn on the motor? (extra low speed)

When agitation stops, does the motor attempt to start in drain mode? Does the timer continue to move?

Assuming the lid switch is good, if the motor doesn't attempt to start for drain, I think you have a bad timer.

The low reading on the low speed winding does indicate a problem however, the motor always starts in high speed regardless if it's agitate, drain, spin, or selected speed via the speed switch. Drain in normally in high speed only anyway.

A clear picture of the wiring diagram and timer chart is needed to help you troubleshoot with multimeter. The different models have variations in the way they are wired.

Eric> What about wht to wht/orn on the motor? (extra low speed)
Has none.

Eric> When agitation stops, does the motor attempt to start in drain mode?
Silence after the click of the timer at the end of the agitation

Eric> Does the timer continue to move?
No. I thought it was waiting for a level switch to say the water is low enough to spin.
Manually advancing the timer does nothing.

Eric> A clear picture of the wiring diagram and timer chart is needed to help you troubleshoot with multimeter. The different models have variations in the way they are wired.
Diagram and timer chart are visible there on the machine. I can read wiring diagram but have no understanding of what the timer chart is saying or how to test it.
