The bake element in my oven will not heat up. I replaced it and it still does not work. The broiler element, clock and timer all work. Is there anything else that could be causing this problem and if so how do i check it to see if its functioning.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for GE JBP21BC1WH | AppliancePartsPros.comYes the control board could be the cause. I would check the new element with a meter just to be sure it is OK. Sometimes a part is bad right out of the box. If the element is OK then odds are high that the relay (on the control board) that controls the element is not closing or it's contacts are shot. Check to be sure the wires from the control board to the element are OK and that they go direct. I cannot find a wiring diagram for this unit and some ovens do have a thermal cutoff. Make sure the unit is unplugged when doing any of the above. |
