The ice maker no longer fills with water. The door delivers water, the crusher crushed bagged ice placed in bin, and the cube ice delivery system works with bagged ice as well. I replaced the dual control water valve and checked the fill pipe for any ice; there was none. After waiting for a number of hours to see whether the ice maker had to cycle itself to refill there is still no water. I'm curious if anyone has any other ideas or suggestions to fix this problem. The frig is in great shape and I really would like to keep it. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Anybody have any ideas? This thing is giving me fits! I replaced the filter, water tubing, and blew out the water feed line from the solenoid to the ice maker. No blockages. Still not working...

Hi Mike,

There is nothing left but the ice maker itself. GE has redesigned it. So, the new ice maker could look different but it is designed to replace all old GE ice makers.

- The ice maker Part number: WR30X10093
Part number: WR30X10093

Gene,

Thanks for your reply. Is there a way for me to test the new solenoid to make sure I didn't get one that was defective before I replace the ice maker or should I just replace the ice maker unit as you suggested.

Mike,

You can swap the wires between the water valve solenoids. Then depress the water dispenser lever for a few seconds and check for water inside the ice maker. If there is water then there is nothing wrong with the solenoid.
