But... maybe those symptoms meant it's bad? I think I'll replace it regardless, since it's almost 8 years old. And probably that will cure the problem.

This time the replacement does not work. I noticed the red light blinks twice, delays about a second and blinks twice again. It never stops this cycle even with the flapper held back or switching it off. Not sure what this code means. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the problem with your refrigerator is a bad optics. Gene.

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 12/9/2011(UTC) Posts: 3		Hey WhyWontThisWork, On my Whirlpool GD5PHAXLQ01, like Gene suggested to swap the wires you can use two pieces of insulated wires to connect these plugs. Make sure they are not touching each other and any other metal parts. John
