The cubes are hollow - basically a thin shell of ice. Any suggestions on a cause and repair. Thanks CP

I've seen this happen before with the self piercing saddle valves. The rubber gasket under the piercing needle starts to break apart and occasionally gets caught in the hole. Shut the valve off and disconnect the water line then open it again and check the water pressure. Get a bucket ready.
