This is my second GE 36" Electric cooktop in 8 years. Its only my husband and myself, so it is not abused. I get the F112 flashing beeping lights. What is the cause.

This error code means that the left front burner was overheated. The cause can be a bad sensor which is a part of the heating element, a bad power board or a bad main control board.
You will need a simple multimeter to perform some tests. If you need the correct part numbers, post the end of the model number.
