My Maytag washer will not stop flowing washer into the tub. It will not spin or rinse, when placed on the setting for each.

The first thing I would check is the connection of the air tube to the water level switch (#13 on the control panel break down diagram). If it got loosen, drain all water out before reconnecting. If there is nothing wrong then the water level switch is bad. - The part number for the water level switch AP250430 - Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag washer Model LAT9406AAEGene.

The washer will only fill up, it will not work in spin or rinse cycle. The water level switch is working. I put it in mini load and it fills to the proper level and shuts off. It will not continue the cycle and wash the clothes. i am thinking the timer is bad. It has not moved from the position that I placed it in earlier today.

In such situation I would check the lid switch first. You can find complete instructions in the service manual (page 3-14). Gene.
