Kenmore electric range 2 years old with an F10 flashing. Flipped the breaker, switched back on & same thing again and again after waiting 30 minutes each time. Repairman cost is $75 plus parts. Is it worth the repair or is a new unit more reasonable?

Your model number seems to be missing several digits. Kenmore numbers are usually 3 numbers, a period and then 6 to 8 additional numbers.
F10 is often an over temperature error on Frigidaire units. 790. designates it as a Frigidaire. Probably either a oven sensor or a control board problem. Below is info on how to check the oven sensor, take a look at 7, 8, 20 and 21.
I cannot say if it is worth fixing as it depends hat a replacement unit would cost you, how happy you are with the current unit, what kind of shape the unit is in, what part is needed etc. |
