My top load Whirlpool washer knocks while spinning. The agitator seems to catch and knock and then spin with the drum but then it slows down and knocks and repeats this. Other wise it works fine. Is this a transmission problem, etc. I replaced the dogs in the agitator a while back and it has been working fine until now.

The number should be LA7680XTWO. I took out the basket today and there was fibers from clothing wrapped around the housing in the tub for the drive shaft. It must have been really dragging. I will replace the clutch and see how it works. I have heard that there is a part in the transmission that has given trouble in the past.

Hi Jim,

You may want to start the troubleshooting from checking the drive block. You can find the instructions and the instructional video in one of our previous threads: http://forum.appliancepartspros...ir/373-not-spinning.html

The model number you posted is incomplete. Verify and repost it please.

Gene.
