Replaced drum belt as suggested by Denman on earlier post. That fixed one problem but still hae the problem of the dryer getting too hot very quickly even on low heat setting.

When I originally noticed the dryer was not tumbling it was after I had put a full load of towels in to dry and after 45 mins or so they were still not dry. Is it possible that if the dryer quit tumbling for a long period of time while the heat was still on that it did something to the thermostat and that it needs to now be replaced or could it be something else?
