I have unplugged the plug in hopes of resetting the compressor but no luck at all. What is my next step? I have to be able to fix this one by myself. Me and my home health worker would have to fix it ourselves. please email me the solution at pblystone1@hotmail.com Help I need immediate help!!!!

Hi, I am having the exact same issue on my GE Profile PSS25MGMB BB. I can hear it running, everthing is working but fridge and freezer not cooling at all. Is there also that same "start device" on my fridge? And if so, where do I find it and what does it look like?

The compressor is located on the back of the refrigerator. Verify if it does work by touching it. Clean the condenser coils on the back. Verify if the fan next to the compressor does work. So do you think that it is the compressor that is broken? Should it be vibrating or making noise or something? And is that black roundish thing the compressor? Sorry, very dumb on this subject!

The compressor is shown on the following picture. It should vibrate if it's working. If it's not then you have to have a multimeter to perform some tests. Let us know when you will be ready. Gene.

Not to hyjack this thread but my GE Profile refrig just stopped cooling (both sides). Everything seems to be working, compressor feels like it is running, even warms up to the touch, but no cold air. Seems like it just lost its charge or something. It was working fine one minute then it just stopped cooling. This unit will be 6 years old in Oct so the compressor is out of warranty. Is there something else I should be looking at here or is this just junk at this point?
Thanks, Joe
