Thank you.
Simon. I totally missed this. I'll try this after dinner. :p It was 104 degrees today, with a heat index of 107. I'm beat, but I need to get this fixed. I've started price shopping for the parts that may be affected. Thanks Raymond

I am also an idiot. I reached in and pushed up on the Defroster Heater after about 1 minute of starting the defrost cycle.....AND BURNED the crap out of my hand. I have a nice straight burn line across my four fingers where I pressed up on the element. Lets say that it is working. ;) ( I also verified there was 118V to the element.) So now my quandry, whats going on here? The next logical questions being: What tells the main board to turn on the element? How long is the average Defrost Cycle? I suppose I had a loose connection, I did disconnect everything, poke around the connections and reconnected them up. I'm going to check it again later. Thanks, Raymond

Hi.
The logistics in the control board failed. Replace the board.
Simon.

Simon. Ok, but what tells the board it's time to defrost if it's a ADC system (Auto Defrost Cycle) and not just on a Timer and runs regardless every "X" hours for "X" minutes? As an engineer, I have to wonder if its feasable (read cheaper) to find an alternate power source and rig a R/C timer circuit to turn on & off the element.

What role do the two thirmistors have in the defrost cycle? I have two of them as well as a thermostat. (There's also a thermistor in the ice maker, but I have to believe it's dedicated to the ice maker mold heater)
Thanks Raymond
