Hello

I have a Maytag Neptune front load washer Model # MAH5500BWW

My washer fills up with water when its not in use .

tried unplugging machine and turning water vales off and it still filled up ??

When the water valve is in the on position it sounds like there is water running ?

Im thinking water intake valve ?

Also i have undone the hoses completely from the valves and waiting to see if tub fills up ?

Any thoughts ? Thank you in advance

I am not sure I understand.
Do you mean that you unplugged the unit and turned off the water faucets at the wall?
If yes then you must have 2 problems.
1. the water valve (Item 30 in Section 4) is leaking. You will need both the model number and serial number.
2. one of your faucets is leaking.

Note: the valves in the unit can sometimes leak if there is low water pressure.

It should fix the filling problem.

I would also check your faucets one of them must be leaking.

Usually it is one of the cold or hot solenoid valve that is jammed open. They are repairable sometimes, but it is best to change it ( 30$ )

The cause for the defect is most probably a bad water filter, or no filter at all.

Looks Like I have the same issue with the tub filling with water.

I have the same model number, MAH5500BWW

Now to figure out how to crack the serial number so I know what part to get from section 4 part 30

The 83 only /87 and later or the prior to 87

I did look for a date code on the back of the machine

Based of a guess, and the only eighty something number I see in the serial number is 85, those are the 5th and 6th digits in the serial number.

So If my guess is correct I will need the prior to 87 valve set.

Can someone confirm this?

Or do I need to post the serial number for it to be cracked?
