If you remove the drip tray then look under the lower lip of the dispenser face, you will find two slots that a flat blade screwdriver fit in nicely. As you push down on the bottom, insert the screwdriver and pull toward you until it snaps loose, then do the other side. This will give you access to the dispenser are which is usually held in place with a couple tabs. Behind the switch bracket is the whole chute assembly. The door pivots on a shaft that is attached to the door by a couple tabs, one of which has a tendency to break. Sounds like the plastic mount tabs have broken off. There is a kit available which I wrote about in my post Kitchenaid Refrigerator Broken Dispenser Door that can be installed and makes the housing better than the original. Get the kit, follow the instructions and you should be good.
