My Gibson Quiet Clean Plus has recently leaked all over the floor. It appears to be coming out of the float. When leaking, it runs across the bottom of the dishwasher. Any ideas as to what part in particular may be leaking? Thanks.

You have to locate the leak. Remove the kick plate and track it back to it's source. A small mirror and a flashlight can help here.
Remove the float and check that it is clean. Sometimes they can get crud in them and this can cause a leak due to capillary action. But your post seems to indicate that there was lots of water so I doubt this is the cause. Check for a crack around it.
Does the unit drain completely? Is the unit level? Was there lots of suds when it leaked? Does it leak every cycle?
If you find the cause be sure to leave the kick plate off for several days so it will dry out underneath otherwise your floor will rat. If you have small kids or pets be sure to unplug or remove power from the unit. |
