I have a side by side amana refrigerator with through door dispensing. I purchased and installed a replacement ice maker from your company part #AP178365 in January. Now I"ve had water on the floor but none getting into the ice maker. The ice maker appears to be going through it cycle and now I don't get any water leak on the floor.
Do I have a bad replacement or is there something else that went bad?

Is your problem- water getting on the floor of the kitchen with water leaking out of the water line on the back of the freezer.

I don't know for sure there is no water leaking at all right now. I suspect it may have come from the back.

But there is not water going to the ice maker??
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear

When I switched wires on the water valve and hit the water dispenser no water came out at the ice maker, but a couple minutes later water came out the water dispenser. I think the water valve to the ice maker isn't working and the water valve may be bad. Does that make sense? How can this be checked? Thanks

Were the wires still swapped when the water came out of the dispenser. If so it shows the ice maker is calling for water. You have already checked the valve and the ice maker side of it is bad. You can now replace it.
