 Hello all, I'm having an issue with my Maytag MLG2000AWW Washer/ Dryer combo. Everything works fine with the washer and dryer except that the washer doesn't spin at the correct speed to remove the water from the clothes. The pump is fine because it drains the machine, the motor also functions correctly and the belt has tension. I'm a novice tinkerer but I did much more to troubleshoot the machine than the technician who charged $70 to tell me that the control board needed to be changed at the additional cost of $450 without even opening any of the access panels. I browsed through this site and found that others had changed the board and the machine continued to have the same problem. I would be forever grateful if someone can please assist me with some sound advise before I spend hundreds of dollars on trying to repair this unit. I feel comfortable and confident in swapping out defective electrical parts if needed to save hundreds of dollars. :(

Do you have access to a multimeter Part number: AP3873826
To check circuits, wires and voltage. A place to start would be at the motor control board. Disconnect the JP4 connector(blue, red, yellow and two white wires) With a large needle or fine point awl, spread the metal contacts in the connector, and check for any frayed wires, and reattach the connector. Remove the washer top trim panel, on each side of the tub assembly, you'll find a multi plug, basically disconnect the harnesses, check the wiring and makes siure the pins and female connectors are a tight fit when you reattach the connectors. Then check and see if the washer will spin. Try this first, From there we'll need the multimeter and will need to access the washing machine control board, up inside the dryer cabinet in the right front corner, so we can check circuits and low voltage to the board. Thanks, :) :) :)

Is located in the front, top right corner, of the dryer cabinet, you'll need to remove the dryer front panel and door assembly to access it. As mentioned in the previous posts, you want to check as many components and circuits as possible, with a multimeter, especially the molex connectors mounted on the sides of the tub, before you go up to the control board(unless the door is not locking, Then start at the control board and check for a damaged, burnt R11 resistor). Thanks and Good Luck,
