My dryer is not producing any heat. It tumbles fine, but with just cold air. I'm trying to locate where the thermal heat sensors or fuses are located on the unit.

Here are your parts, includes a wiring diagram Replacement parts for FRG FEX831CS0 | AppliancePartsPros.comThis should help you in replacing it if it is blown http://www.frigidaire.com/tip/s...t/Laundry/5995381885.pdfThe fuse is Item 36 in the "Upper cabinet/drum/heater" section. Note it is listed as KF36 at the bottom of the page. This fuse will prevent the dryer from tumbling so is not your problem. Most likely the heater is blown or a thermostat is open. I would suggest you purchase a meter. You can get a decent digital multimeter for under $20.00. You do not need fancy though it is nice if the leads are a couple feet long. If it saves ordering one unnecessary part it has paid for itself and you end up owning a useful tool. Most places will not let you return electrical parts so if you order it, you own it. A couple things to watch when measuring ohms and continuity 1. Always remove power from the machine otherwise you could blow your meter. 2. Always disconnect at least one side of any device you are checking. This eliminates the possibility of measuring an alternate/parallel circuit path. 3. When checking for closed contacts and continuity use the lowest scale (Usually 200 ohms). Then try higher scales. This scale is 0 to 200 ohms so if the device you are measuring is 300 ohms this scale would show an open circuit which it is not, you are just measuring outside the scale's dynamic range. There is a good STICKY at the start of this forum about it's use. |

Thanks denman...I'll check out ther parts list. I've repalced the thermal sensor on my Whirlpool in the past, but after taken the covers off my Frigidaire stackable I'm still not sure where to locate it.

tshug, Have you checked the breakers in the home yet? If 1side of the breaker is kicked, It will run,but won't heat!!!! It is RARE that these dryers loose a heater or a thermostat!!!!

I haven't had a chance to check the breakers yet since this washer/dryer is at our summer cottage. It'll be the first thing I do when I get there.

Drags1998, it did turn out to be the breaker that caused the problem. Even though it didn't appear to be tripped once I reset it the dryer did heat up. Thanks to you and denman for your responses.
