I have a ge TBX24ZA refrigerator freezer (spare one for beer and the like) works extreemly well, the problem is it is now making ice but the control arm does not raise when the ice bucket is full and it just keeps on pumping out the ice. I have to manualy raise the icemaker arm to get it to shut off...any answers would be great. The icemaker was not used for2 yeasr while we were building our new home???

If you take the plastic end cover off the the ice maker you should be able to observe the operation of the lever and what is supposed to lift the arm up when it dumps the ice. Could have just slipped out of position.

woodchuckie,
never that easy pulled cover off, arm was intact, took icemaker out of feezer there is a nylon gear that has offsets in it as it turn on the arm (that is metal) go figure; anyway after all of the years of worikng great the metal lever on the arm has cut into the nylon gear nolonger moving up and down. I am going to see if I can buy the new gear..
