Second time in 2 years the oven does not heat after running the auto clean feature. I've read others have this same problem.
I used the auto clean on Sunday afternoon. Monday evening I went to use the oven. It turns on, but never heats up.
The thermostat was replaced in January, 2008 because of the same issue.
Is there any way to determine if this is a recall issue? Or, have Whirlpool replace the thermostat for minimal charge? I paid $288 last year to fix the problem. Thanks for your help. Sandra

Sandra I had trouble with my Whirlpool oven not heating after I used the automatic cleaning option. I just had a repair person out here and he told me that when you use auto clean it automatically comes up indicating 3.5 hours cleaning time. He explained that this is too long, allowing the over to overheat a thermostat part and disable it. He replaced the part (quick, easy--for him, at least!) and showed me how to use auto clean but adjust the cleaning time down to 2.5 hours. Said this should work. He also told me that he and other repairmen had been complaining to Whirlpool about this issue for some time now with no changes.
