I have an O'keefe and Merritt stove. I can not locate the model number. I purchased it used. It has a polit-less ignition. I believe that may be the problem. The burners work on demand and the oven comes on when it desires if at all. How do I identify the model number and troubleshoot the problem. Is there a how to repair step by step manual? where do I find it?

Hi. You need to get to the oven ignitor. Take out the bottom cover then the flame shield and observe the ignitor performance. Turn the oven on. If the ignitor glows red - most likely it's bad. Should be bright white. Replace it. If it's not getting hot, visually inspect it for brakes. Using the multimeter check for continuity between two lead of the ignitor. Next check for 120v going to the ignitor. Post results. The ignitor Part number: AP2150412

Hi.
It will be hard to find instructions for your model, but here are the universal step by step. First remove the power to the unit. With the door partially open pull it straight up of the hinges. Remove the shelfs and bottom cover. Remove the flame shield. Remove two screws holding ignitor. Splice new ignitor in using wire nuts, provided in the kit. Reinstall ignitor on the burner. Turn on the oven and check how it lights. The burner may need cleaning. Reassemble in revers order. Post result.
