one day the water for the icemaker wouldnt stop turned the water shut off and turned it back on the water works but the icemaker wont work any more

Most likely the problem is a bad water inlet valve (#800 on the diagram).

Here are the break down diagrams and the parts list for the GE refrigerator Model TFHA24RRAAD
