Unit was working fine until the other day when I turned it off and then later turned it back on. Now there appears to be no power in the fridge side of the unit (power panel does not light up, nor do the interior lights), however the lights on the water/ice despenser display of the freezer side appears to work. Any idea what I need to do to repair this unit?
TIA

Gene,
Thanks so much for your response which BTW was confirmed by an appliance repair technician a short while ago. Wish I had found this website earlier as I could have saved myself $86.04 for their service call. However, I do plan to order the replacement part online via this website and relace it myself to save some bucks as I'm sure it will be less costly than the appliance repair company will want to charge me for parts and labor to complete the repair. Plan to save this website link for future appliance repair issues.
Again THANKS!!! Gary

Howdy Gene,
Here's a follow-up on my Fridge issue:
Ordered the Power Bd as you and the appliance repair company rep recommended and installed the new one today. Following installation, I applied power to the fridge by plugging it in. The Power Bd immediately beeped 3 times. FYI, the beeping had not occurred with the old defective Power Bd installed, so I was under the impression that everything would be fine. However, when I proceeded to push the power button inside the fridge and hold it momentarily, nothing happened. Please help as I do not know what is wrong or what to do next.
FYI, it appears that the freezer side of the unit functions as it should (interior light works, ice maker actually starts to cycle (heard it click and start filling with water), water dispenser in door dispenses water, lights function on the water/ice dispenser display properly, etc.) with the exception of freezing. This was the same as was before I replaced the Power Bd.
Thanks in advanced for any assistance with this issue.
Regards, Gary

Gene, I have not received a response to my last post a few days ago (2/29/12) regarding my fridge issue so I'm sending this post to the original thread again to try contacting you again. TIA and I appreciate any help/assistance you may be able to provide regarding the issue. You have to push and hold the on/off button for a few seconds. Did you do it?
Gene.

Gene. Gene, Yes sir, I did to no avail. I pushed and held it for a short period of time as well as a lengthy period of time to no avail in both cases. Gary

Gary, In such situation looks like the problem can be a bad membrane switch and/or a bad display board. I would recommend to order both of them and give it a try. You can return any unneeded part later. - The membrane switch Part number: AP3778378

Gene, Thanks for your inputs! I originally tried to remove both of these two items, mainly the Control BD when I first started troubleshooting the issue. Maybe I didn't reinstall them correctly. I'll check them first and reconnect them to ensure I don't have a loose connection at the ribbon cable connections. If it still fails after reconnecting the ribbon cable, then I guess I'll order the parts and see what happens. Again, thanks!
