last night I realized I was the one that brought up the "clip"...I decided to go back to your first response which was "pull and hold on to the tube"...stick w/your first response and forget the clip...2 knuckles and a heat coil later and you were right to begin with...but!!! I see you have responded to someone that they have replaced the coil and still no heat and that unfortunately is my problem...thanks Tom...we'll move on

Also when you replace the element, there is a 1/4 inch screw between the two element terminal, that also holds the element in place. When you pull the old element out, hold on to the tube that the elemnt slides into with the other hand. Use a pliers to pull the old one out. It is hard sometimes to pull out. Tom Can I take this panel off to clean the lint? OR is there no way lint can be behind that panel? I was trying to clean out all the lint where the filter goes and thought I should clean behind that panel but couldn't get it off...your instructions will help but I want to make sure there is a need first, so could there be lint behind that panel? Thx Lee
