Is the compressor warm and vibrating and both freezer and condenser fans running?

If the condenser is also warm, you have a bad compressor and or refrigerant leak. Amprobe and gauges would confirm. If you pull the freezer back panel and see partial frost, that would confirm it. It's also possible you have a restriction in the cap tube or a oil filled dryer. An amprobe would confirm, but rather rare.

I checked heater with an ohm meter and it is not working. Could another problem have caused this? Troubleshooting says to check thermostat also but would I have to cut wire to do that? (and where is condenser?)
