Our Kitchen Aid Stove Glass Stove Top left front burner quit working. I was told it was a surface element. We replaced the surface element and it still is not working. Before replacing the old element the burner would still make the humming sound that it always did while it was heating up. Now that we have replaced it with a new one through AppliancePartsPro it doesn't work and no longer makes the humming sound. Could it be something electrical or a faulty replacement part?

Most likely the cause of the problem is the infinite switch for this burner. Remove the power from the range. Open the control panel and remove wires from the terminals H1 and H2. Turn the switch "on" and check for continuity across the terminals L1 & H1 and the terminals L2 & H2. If any of these circuits is open - the switch is bad and has to be replaced. - The part number for the infinite switch for the left front burner is AP3008912 Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid range Model KERC500YAL1Gene.

I need help in hooking up the new burnerof the kitchen aid range. I have the old burner and the new burner. The short brown wire doesn't allow me to hook up with the new burner.
