Hi, I have a built in GE electric doubble oven, the control module(top oven) is frozen with what looks like all 8’s across the LED screen. I have disassembled it and I “think” I can narrow the problem down to either the control module or the control panel assembly. Is there an easy way to test out either one, or am I looking at a crap shoot here… Model #JKP27WOW1WW

Thanks for any help you can give me!

If the power to the oven was off for a while, the first thing I would recommend is to turn the power on now and see if ti works.

Thanks Gene, but I've done that a couple of times with the same results, right now I'm leaning twards the control "touch" panel assembly since it gets the most abuse. But without any type of code I'm just not sure...

With the power to the oven off, open the control panel and remove the key pad ribbon from the slot in the control board.
Using an eraser, clean the end of the ribbon and plug it back.
Post the results.

In such situation is very hard to say if the problem is a bad control board or a bad key pad.
I would start with the control board (ERC) because after the power up, 8s on the display should be switched to a blinking 12:00 by itself.

- The part number for the Control board AP3155966

- The part number for the white control panel AP2029545

- The part number for the black control panel AP2029544
